Projects
Donna Kerley Designs designs refined commercial and residential spaces that feel both intentional and enduring. Every project is guided by a respect for architecture, craftsmanship, and thoughtful detail, blending modern design with timeless character. The result is elevated, livable environments that are as functional as they are visually compelling.

Starkey Commons Main Lobby: Before
The lobby presented a neutral, functional waiting area with light gray walls, patterned carpet, and minimal visual hierarchy. While the space benefited from good natural light and ceiling height, the seating and décor felt sparse and loosely connected. The overall impression was clean but generic, lacking a strong identity or sense of destination.

Starkey Commons Main Lobby: After
The space is reimagined with rich blue upholstered lounge seating that immediately elevates the atmosphere and introduces a sense of sophistication. The deeper color palette creates contrast against the neutral walls, adding warmth, depth, and visual focus. Layered lighting, curated artwork, and strategically placed greenery soften the architecture and guide movement through the space. The result is a welcoming, contemporary lobby that feels intentional, refined, and comfortable.

Starkey Commons Stairwell: Before
The stairwell featured a solid orange wall that felt flat and unfinished, offering little visual interest and making the space feel more like a pass-through than a moment to experience.

Starkey Commons Stairwell: After
The space is transformed into a striking architectural feature with a large-scale mural, layered lighting, and refined finishes. The stairwell now feels dynamic and intentional, guiding movement while adding depth, artistry, and a sense of elevated design.

Starkey Commons Commercial Building: Before
The corner featured an orange chair set against a neutral backdrop, offering a pop of color but feeling isolated and unfinished, with little cohesion or sense of intention.

Starkey Commons Commercial Building: After
The space is transformed into a calm, curated vignette with a rich accent wall, thoughtfully selected artwork, layered lighting, and refined seating. Added greenery and balanced tones create a welcoming, polished moment that feels intentional and serene.

Starkey Commons Commercial Break Room: Before
The breakroom felt narrow and uninspired, with harsh lighting, muted finishes, and minimal personality. While functional, the space lacked warmth and did not invite people to pause, relax, or connect.

Starkey Commons Commercial Break Room: After
The refreshed breakroom feels warmer and more intentional, with softer tones, updated lighting, and added artwork that bring balance and visual interest. The space now feels comfortable, calming, and welcoming—an inviting retreat for rest and recharge.

Starkey Commons Seating Area: Before
The space felt sparse and overly bright, with a stark layout that lacked warmth and a calming sense of peace.

Starkey Commons Seating Area: After
The space is transformed into a welcoming, thoughtfully designed lounge with layered seating, greenery, and warm accents, creating a cohesive, comfortable environment that promotes ease and peace of mind.

Starkey Commons Building Exterior: Before
The façade is muted and flat, with architectural details blending into the background and the building’s historic character understated.

Starkey Commons Building Exterior: After
Warm tones and refined accents highlight the details, bringing depth, elegance, and a more inviting, polished presence to the storefront while fitting seamlessly with the surrounding facades on the block.
